Why is Windows 10 Support Ending?

Microsoft’s decision to end support for Windows 10 is part of its ongoing march forward.  When it was launched, Microsoft commented that it would be the last version, albeit its hard to find references to that now.  Nevertheless, Microsoft have updated it so much that the current versions are quite different to the original.
