In today’s data-driven world, it’s essential to streamline how we interact with business data, documents, and presentations. We’re excited to introduce several new features in Copilot that will transform your workflow and enhance productivity across Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

So, let’s unpack some new capabilities

Use OneDrive to compare the differences between files and present them for review in a table

Copilot has just arrived in OneDrive. It makes it easy to compare up to 5 files at a time and summarise the results in a table. Use it to compare resumes, submissions, quotes etc. You can then refine and ask further questions as required.

Reason Over Data Without Tables in Excel

Gone are the days when you had to meticulously organise your Excel data into tables for Copilot to process it. Now, Copilot can reason over data ranges with just a single row of headers on top. This new feature makes it easier to analyse business data, survey results, or project progress without the extra step of table formation.

Integrated Search in Word for Efficient Drafting

Need to draft a plan or gather crucial information without leaving Word? Copilot’s integrated search feature allows you to ask questions directly in Word chat. It will pull information from both internal sources and the internet, providing you with the answers you need.

Example: “Who is on the board of directors for Fonterra?”

Summarise PowerPoint Presentations to Reduce Information Overload

If you need to get to the core of a PowerPoint presentation quickly, Copilot has you covered. You can now ask specific questions about your presentations, such as summarizing a presentation or inquiring about specific slides.

Example: “What is the goal of this project?” or “Summarise slide 5.”

Query Specific Time Periods for Precise Information

Looking for details from a particular time frame, like last month or last year? Copilot can identify specific timeframes and provide you with the necessary information.

Example: “Summarise all chats with [team member] from last October.”

Create Marketing Presentations from Word Documents

No more copying links to documents. Simply reference a Word document as your source in Copilot for PowerPoint, and let Copilot do the heavy lifting of creating a presentation.

Example: “Create a presentation from /[document].”

These updates are designed to save you time and make your work more efficient. We encourage you to explore these new features and see how they can enhance your daily tasks.
