Here are 3 essential tips for Excel users starting from beginner users through to advanced users.

For Beginners: Excel Quick Access Toolbar

The Quick Access Toolbar is in the top right of every Office app. Ensure the commands you use most frequently or those that are hard to find are a single click away. 

  1. Click the  to add or remove commands.
  2. Select a command from the suggestions or click More Commands to explore all the commands in Excel.

For Intermediate Users:  Analyse Data in Excel

  1. Select your data > click Analyze Data from the Home tab
  2. Use Natural Language Queries to query your data – here’s an example

For Advanced Users – Automate – Record Scripts

Macros are so last decade. Use the Automate tab to record scripts “your actions” and trigger them.

    1. Simply click Record Actions to start recording

There is a selection of prerecorded scripts for you and you can even build these or your scripts into Power Automate flows to be even more productive.

What about Copilot AI?

(after all, Excel is the one app where people tend to need a helping hand and assistance)

Some of the cool things Copilot can help with are Formulas, Analysis and with the Copilot for Finance Add In it makes Reconciliation easier.
